A video of Roseau and who’s apartment is that? Lennox Honeychurch describes Roseau as tropical Victorian. The capital of Dominica is situated on a gently rounded headland. It has the greatest expanse of flat land along the leeward coast with fresh water from a nearby river. The French name for the town came from the profusion of river reeds, roseaux.

Some boring video of the Peace Corps office. A little nostalgia for anyone who served in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Sunday was an uneventful day. After church I ironed clothes, and wrote some letters. The wind was very strong, so even though I had caught up on my work, I did not go to the sea to swim. Diarrhea was also getting me down. Ingrid was also on the verge of a long case of diarrhea and sleeping a lot.

Monday school went well even though I had to loudly tell the students how I was upset about their poor attempts at homework. Frances was also sick with vomiting and diarrhea.

After I got my hair cut I ran into Bill. He was on his way to get his haircut from Blutus. We talked a bit about the upcoming primary. Tuesday night ended on a bright note with Bush’s hollow and historically poor victory of 58% vs 40% for Pat. Tsongas did well with 34%. He is at least injecting some realism in the debate and party. He is also a good role model of clean, visionary leadership. He might even win. Wednesday I taught the largest group I’ve ever had at the Adult Center for Maths.

My country director’s response to my December 29, 1992 quarterly report. I think she wrote more in her response than I did in my report.

15 February

I typed up and sent out my third edition of Serious Ting last weekend. That work began as I finally got over my cold. I was surprised the cold didn’t return after I stayed up until almost 2:00 AM talking with Catherine; I had trouble sleeping with Marcy’s dogs making noises and had to get up early for market and Cook Dominica.

Another highlight last week was real pizza. Some lady from Jersey open a pizza restaurant. It was awesome. Bubbly crust, twirled dough, and mozzarella cheese. I went with Ingrid, Peter, Michele, and Mary on Friday night. Actually they met me 20 minutes after I arrived and was supposed to meet them. I went back on Sunday to discover what we suspected was true: Pizza was cheaper by the slice than by the whole pie. Eating at Cook Dominica, Mary and Peter’s and Pat’s also contributed to a good weekend.

This week I was accepted at NYU and Barb, Maryann, Peter & Mary spent Tues night with us.
